PA124. “In my opinion, Prescribed Curriculum is……..”

Abstract

This presentation explores the issue of Prescribed Curriculum. This presentation will cover the literature review conducted around the area of prescribed curriculum across different educational systems; its definition, its pros and cons in relation to the role of teachers who implement this kind of curriculum. The views of Omani state school teachers’ on the current English language prescribed curriculum will be addressed as part of research conducted into the impact of this curriculum on teachers.

Fawziya  is the Director of Curriculum Studies and Development Office in the Ministry of Education. Currently Fawziya is studying for PhD at the University of Leeds Metropolitan - Uk. Her research interests are on teacher development and initial literacy.
