PA174. Learning English in primary schools in Oman

Abstract

Curriculum reform is commonly driven by values as well as by individuals, social and cultural needs. The aim of the study  is to investigate the present problems with the English primary curriculum  in Oman from a range of stakeholders’ perspectives. The results will enhance and develop the participants understanding of an appropriate curriculum content that will help working more confidently with authoring materials for present and future Omani primary school teachers and learners of English.

Nasa Al Abrawi  was a primary English Teacher/ Senior English Teacher in state schools in Muscat Region, Sultanate of Oman.
She is the English Curriculum Officer, Curriculum Department,Muscat Region,Sultanate of Oman.She is currrently pursuing her PhD in John Moores University,Liverpool.
