Abstract

One of the most critical issues observed in students' writing is ‘plagiarism’ or their tendency to ‘copy and paste’ information without paraphrasing and proper referencing. This paper gives insight into the scaffolding process and describes the process of integrating scaffolds at different stages of writing and shows some authentic templates that were developed. This paper describes the effectiveness of using the scaffolding techniques in a writing course to minimize students’ plagiarism.
