PA196. Maximising Learner Autonomy though Multimedia Language Labs

Abstract

Learner Autonomy means moving the focus from teaching to learning.  It empowers students to take charge of their own learning. The use of technology can take students beyond the limits and limitations of classrooms.  Media-based learning has emerged as a new, powerful form of instruction to promote learner autonomy. This paper discusses the necessity to develop learner autonomy, multimedia in language learning and practical ways to maximize learner autonomy through language labs.
