PA223. Google Docs:An effective online tool for collaborative learning

Abstract

The current research project aims at examining how Google Documents application has the potential effect to engage college students to working collaboratively as an online community of practice.It is an ongoing study which is conducted to investigate third year students’ experiences about the use of such learning tool in handing group work activities. The preliminary findings show that Google Docs application offers an opportunity for students to perform an outstanding, collaborative group work.

Aaisha Al Balushi is an assistant teacher and an Assistant Coordinator at the foundation level. She holds an MA in Applied Linguistics with TESOL from UK. Her thesis was about examining the use of CALL in territory institutions in Oman.
