Presentation title

PA28. Sharing the Burden for Language Learning Motivation (LLM)

Abstract

Teachers are sometimes stumped by the question “how do you motivate your students?” Or they may wrongly conclude the burden is theirs alone.  This presentation will survey 38 studies of language learning motivation (LLM) from the GCC and the Levant from 1980 to 2013 in order to address the issue of LLM factors beyond the teacher’s control.  In addition, it will offer recommendations for educators and administrators concerned about the quandary of LLM.
