PA47. Foundation Program: Focus on writing skills' enhancement

Abstract

What should be done to enhance Foundation Program students’ writing skills, encourage them to exert more effort into writing and become more inclusive partners in the process of learning writing? The presenter will involve the audience into the discussion on teaching writing at the university foundation level in relation to students' secondary school experience and their future academic studies. The results of the study conducted at Sultan Qaboos University will support the discussion.

Victoria Tuzlukova joined the Language Centre at SQU in 2006. During her time at the Language Centre she has been involved in a number of research projects and initiatives. Her research interests focus on language acquisition and sociolinguistics.
