Abstract

What makes teaching contexts challenging? Possible factors are the conflict between how teachers observed teaching as students and what teachers were taught as trainees, the changing roles of teachers and what society and students want teachers to do in classrooms.
This paper compares various traditional methods with innovative methods of language teaching in order to identify the gaps causing challenges to teaching and   attempts to offer practical tips to bridge the gaps.
