PA75. .   A model for developing university students' communication skills

Abstract

A student centered practical model developed to help EFL student teachers reduce their communication apprehension level and develop their communication skills. The model makes use of different applicable strategies and techniques to enable students to take responsibility of their own learning and overcome CA. It dresses students' self-perceived communication competence, communication proficiency and communication apprehension. An experimental research design was used to investigate the effectiveness of the model. Pedagogical implications of the study were discussed.

Eman Essa received Ph.D. in education from Damanhour University.She has been been teaching at the university since 1997. She teaches  psycholinguistics, language acquisition, ESP and educational psychology. She focuses on investigating learners' needs and abilities and their role in learning and pedagogy.
