PO25. Boosting EFL Teaching and LearningThrough Graphic Organizers

Abstract

In the EFL classroom using graphic organizers is  effective in developing reading comprehension  skills. Furthermore,graphic organizers indirectly motivate the students to create their own graphic organizer for the passages they read and comprehend. This enhances students' creativity, analytical thinking, facilitates perception of definitions, characteristics and uses of concepts. Multiple ways that this strategy can be used to enhance  comprehension makes it a necessary tool in all classrooms to integrate previous knowledge with existing knowledge.

Marine Arakelyan  is currently teaching at SQU. She has an MA  in TEFL.She has taught at European Regional Academy and French University in Armenia.She has received Excellence Teacher Education Award  at Montana State University.  She  studied at Eastern Washington University.
