WS16. Engaging before Learning

Abstract

Teachers often ask what the best way to motivate learners is, and while there is no quick and easy answer to the question, this workshop offers some broad motivational ‘macrostrategies’ for increasing learner motivation. Teachers will discuss what ‘engage’ and ‘motivate’ mean, take part in some activities, and reach some conclusions about the most effective strategies for motivating learners to learn.
