WS3. Producing Vocabulary Presentation and Practice Material

Abstract

The presenter will engage the audience in reasons for the need to produce material for learners and will then move on to present a brief overview of vocabulary acquisition / materials production theories. The audience will then be engaged in hands on, practical production of material to present and practice a set of twelve lexical items (man-made geographical features. Group ideas and resultant materials will be shared and briefly discussed. The presenter will round off the workshop with a practical checklist to support effective materials production for any group of learners. Intended audience: teachers and writers.

Tony has thirty years ELT experience around the world. He specialises in ESP course production, teacher education, and examining and has written twenty ESP courses for the Omani military. Tony is currently writing his doctoral thesis on materials writing.
