WS39. 4-Square Writing

Abstract

This workshop introduces the participants to a valuable experience in teaching writing.It aims at helping teachers in different stages to develop their students' writing. Four-square writing is a method of teaching basic writing skills that is applicable across grade levels and curriculum areas.  It can be applied for the narrative, descriptive, expository and persuasive forms of writing. Participants receive handouts as well as practical training for applying the method in classes with their students. The workshop is divided into two sections- the first one shows the benefits of the 4-Square and the other practises how the method will be applied with students in classes.

Rehab Abdulghani is an English Curriculum Specialist and a Master Trainer at the Supreme Education Counil in Qatar.  She has presented several workshops at schools,conferences as well as TESOL Qatar.She has particiapted in editing books for schools.
