WS5. Using the Flipped Model in Teacher Training

Abstract

Flipping teachers' training could have many significant effects on the quality and outcomes of Professional development programs designed for teachers in our Omani context. In this workshop, participants are going to explore the concept of the flipped model by going through the experience by themselves. This experience will facilitate the learning of the pros and cons of the method and its effectiveness on teachers' training. By the end of the workshop, participants are expected to work cooperatively to come up with a simple plan for a flipped professional development workshop for teachers.

Fakhra Al-Mamary is an educational researcher in MOE, Oman. She holds an MA on EFL beginning reading instruction.She is particularly interested on implications of research on teaching and learning.
